About the Rods

All of my rods are made of hand split, hand planed Tonkin cane (Arundinaria amabilis) or tea stick cane imported from China. The sections are hand split, nodes hand corrected and filed, staggered, rough planed and heat treated before final planning to very close tolerances to insure that you will get the action you are looking for in the final rod.

All ferrule and reel seat metal components are high quality nickel silver, and reel seat inserts are of the best figured woods available to me. I do have a large variety of exotic woods available for turning. If you are building your own rod and would like a unique seat for your project please contact me with your wishes. If you have a piece of wood that you would like included in your rod I can do that for you as well.

All of my rods are dip varnished with an appropriate number of coats to give a high quality lasting finish that you can be proud of, and of course rods are complete with a fitted rod bag and aluminum tube.

If you would like to recreate a classic taper, or you have your own unique style of casting I will work with you to supply the fly rod of your dreams.

The Guarantee

If the rod breaks during the first year of ownership (no questions asked) I will fix it.
